Description
Overdates are quite rare in sovereigns, probably because the gold sovereign was the nation's premier coin. In lower denominations overdates used to be more common. The 1880 young head Victoria sovereign with St. George and dragon reverse provides the most affordable of the three sovereign dates with overdates. Even more interestingly, it comes in two different varieties, with and without B.P.
